Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 May 2026
1. About us
Tank Alarm is a service provided by Kiniken Dynamics Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Our contact email is hello@tankalarm.uk.
These Terms of Service govern your use of our website at tankalarm.uk and your engagement with our installation service. By submitting a booking or deposit, you agree to these terms.
2. The service
We supply and install oil tank theft alarm systems at residential and agricultural properties within our service area (Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, and North Essex). Each installation includes:
- The Tank Alarm unit, sensor, siren, key fob, solar panel, and all associated cabling and fixings
- Professional installation by a qualified electrician
- Full commissioning, testing, and customer handover
- 12-month parts and labour warranty
We reserve the right to decline or reschedule bookings where a site assessment on arrival reveals conditions that make installation unsafe or impractical. We will contact you promptly if this occurs.
3. Booking and deposit
A booking is confirmed when we receive your £50 deposit. The deposit is applied against the total installation price — you pay the balance on the day of installation once the work is complete.
Deposit payments are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your card details.
4. Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation by you: You may cancel your booking at any time. If you cancel with at least 48 hours' notice before the scheduled installation date, your deposit will be refunded in full. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice will forfeit the deposit.
Cancellation by us: In the event we need to cancel or reschedule (for example, due to illness, equipment issues, or unsafe site conditions), we will notify you as early as possible and offer a reschedule or full deposit refund.
Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days via the original payment method.
5. Pricing
Our prices are published on the Pricing page and vary by county to reflect travel distance from our Suffolk base. The quoted price is the complete cost — materials, labour, travel, and warranty. There are no hidden extras within our service area.
Founder pricing (reduced rates for our first 20 customers) is available while those slots remain. Standard pricing applies thereafter.
If a site survey on arrival reveals an installation materially more complex than described at booking (for example, requiring a cable run significantly longer than quoted), we will discuss any price adjustment with you before proceeding. You are under no obligation to proceed if you do not agree.
6. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Ensure clear and safe access to the tank on the installation date
- Be present (or have an authorised adult present) for the duration of the installation and handover
- Provide accurate information about your tank and property when booking
- Inform us of any relevant site conditions (e.g. asbestos, restricted access) before installation
7. Warranty
All installations are covered by a 12-month parts and labour warranty. If any component of the installed system fails within 12 months of installation, we will return to repair or replace it at no cost to you.
The warranty does not cover:
- Damage caused by deliberate interference, vandalism, or third-party modification
- Damage caused by flood, fire, or other events beyond reasonable control
- Consumable items such as key fob batteries
- Issues arising from failure to follow the handover instructions
8. Limitation of liability
The Tank Alarm system is a theft deterrent and detection device. We cannot guarantee that it will prevent all theft in all circumstances. Our liability for any losses arising from the failure of the system to prevent theft is limited to the cost of the installation.
We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including loss of oil, property damage, or consequential heating disruption, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
9. Consumer rights
If you are a consumer (booking for personal, residential use), you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. These terms do not affect those rights. Our service must be performed with reasonable care and skill and within a reasonable time.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. If you have an existing booking, the terms in force at the time of your booking apply.
