The company
Built by a Suffolk electrician who got tired of watching it happen.
Tank Alarm started not in a product meeting, but in a driveway in mid-Suffolk — rewiring a farmhouse after its owner had just had £600 of heating oil stolen. The third time that year.
The story
Why Tank Alarm exists
I've been working as an electrical contractor in Suffolk for years. The day-to-day work spans domestic electrical, commercial CCTV and security systems, smart home installations, building management systems, and industrial controls — everything from village pubs to plant hire yards.
The heating oil theft problem kept showing up. Customers on installs would mention it, or call back after a theft needing secondary work — damaged conduit, disturbed external wiring, or a heating system fault from running dry. It wasn't unusual to be the third time it had happened to the same property.
The available solutions weren't good enough. Generic motion sensors produced false alarms from animals. Level monitors told you oil was gone after the fact. Smart home integrations required broadband connections many rural properties don't have. Consumer alarm products weren't designed for continuous outdoor exposure in the UK climate.
I couldn't find a product that did the job properly — most just send a notification to your phone after the oil's already gone. So we built one. Tank Alarm uses a dedicated fuel level sensor that triggers immediately when oil begins to drop unexpectedly — no Wi-Fi, no cloud accounts, no mobile signal required. Designed around the specific failure modes of existing products, and tested in the Suffolk weather, not a product lab.
Tank Alarm Pro is the professional installation service built on top of that hardware. Not a sales operation that subcontracts to whoever's available — every installation is carried out by our team, to BS7671 standard, by people who understand the system inside out.

What we stand for
The principles behind the service
Rural first
We're not a city security company dipping into the countryside. We're based here. We know the properties, the roads, and the way theft happens in East Anglia.
Electricians, not salespeople
Every installation is done by a qualified electrician. We're not training weekend engineers to a script — the person who fits your alarm understands the circuitry.
Industrial-grade build
Consumer alarm products are designed for indoor use with a weatherproof label applied. Tank Alarm is designed from the ground up for continuous outdoor operation.
Honest pricing
The price you see covers everything. No upsells. No 'premium' cables that are mysteriously required. One price, one job, done properly.
The company
Kiniken Dynamics Ltd
Tank Alarm and Tank Alarm Pro are operated by Kiniken Dynamics Ltd, a UK-registered company based in Suffolk. Kiniken Dynamics was founded to develop and commercialise the Tank Alarm product range — from the consumer alarm unit to the professional installation service.
The parent company handles product design, component sourcing, quality testing, and technical development. All field installations are carried out by our team under the Tank Alarm Pro brand. Kiniken Dynamics was founded by Dan, following years of electrical, security, and controls work across Suffolk and surrounding counties. The same standards applied to commercial CCTV installs and building management systems get applied to every Tank Alarm Pro installation.
